Morphovis is designed to help connect cellular behavior with broader functional readouts and biologically meaningful patterns. This integrated perspective can help support clearer hypothesis generation regarding how culture environments may influence cell state, composition, and potential.
Characterization of cellular material remains a central challenge across regenerative medicine, translational research, and cell manufacturing. Extracting relevant biological information at scale remains limited to visual assessment or simple expansion metrics. Morphovis help bridge that gap through computational approaches grounded in real scientific use cases, building a more complete picture of cellular identity and behavior.
This peer-reviewed study reflects the scientific foundation behind Morphovis. In the work, our integrated phenotyping platform was used alongside proteomic and cytokine profiling to characterize how serum-free culture conditions influence mesenchymal stromal cells by integrating insights across multiple dimensions, including: growth behavior across passages, colony-forming patterns, population homogeneity, multipotency, phenotypic consistency, and maintenance of immunomodulatory and anabolic signatures.
Morphovis Biotech Inc. was founded in 2023 by Ashkan Tehrani as a research-stage biotechnology company building on his postdoctoral work in stem cell bioengineering at the University of Calgary.
